Kerbing and Edging across London
Surfaces such as tarmac, resin, block paving and gravel all rely on a solid edge. Without one, the edges break away, blocks spread and stones escape. A good edge also gives a clean, finished look and sets the line between a driveway and the garden or pavement.
We use kerbs, edging stones, setts and block edging, set on a concrete bed with a haunch where needed, and we match them to the surface and the property.

When you need kerbing or edging
- A new driveway, path or patio that needs a firm edge
- Tarmac or block paving that is breaking or spreading at the edge
- Gravel escaping onto the pavement or into flower beds
- Existing kerbs that are loose, sunken or damaged
- A change of level or a line you want to define neatly

How we install kerbs and edging
We set out the line, excavate a trench and lay a concrete bed. Kerbs or edging are bedded to the right level and haunched so they resist movement. Joints are pointed neatly, and the surface is built up to meet the edge cleanly.
Where a kerb meets the public highway, work such as a lowered kerb is subject to council rules. See dropped kerbs.
How it works
Set out the line
We agree the line, level and type of edging.
Excavate and bed
We dig the trench and lay a concrete bed.
Lay and haunch
We set the kerbs or edging to level and support them with concrete.
Point and finish
We point the joints, clean up and let it set.
Not sure which surface suits your property?
Resin, tarmac, block paving or stone: each has strengths. Tell us about your space and budget and we will recommend the right one and quote for it in writing.
Which edging should I choose?
Concrete kerbs are strong and economical, granite looks premium and lasts, and block edging gives a decorative border. Your surface and the look of the property decide. We give clear options with the quote.
What affects the cost?
The price depends on the length, the type of kerb or edging, the bed and haunching required and any cutting or curves. We give a free written quote after measuring up.
