We build a compacted, free-draining sub-base and set a bedding layer to the right depth, because stone is unforgiving of uneven foundations. Setts and cobbles are laid by hand, tapped to level and kept to a consistent pattern, then jointed with a suitable material.
For a permeable result we use open-graded base and joint materials. We can also advise on edging, borders and stone sealing where it suits the stone and use.
