Driveway Lighting across London

The best time to add lighting is while the ground is open, because ducts and cables can be laid under the surface rather than cut in later. We plan the positions with you, then lay ducting and cable runs and fit the lights as the paving is completed.

Options include low-voltage and LED post lights, bollard lights, recessed edge lights and uplighters. We install lighting alongside new driveways, paths and gates. Mains-voltage connections are made by a qualified electrician.

Why people add lighting

  • To make the driveway and entrance safer at night
  • To deter intruders and show visitors the way
  • To highlight paving, planting and the front of the house
  • To light steps and level changes
  • To finish a new driveway properly

How we install driveway lighting

We agree a lighting plan with you, then lay ducting and cabling as the groundwork is built. Lights are positioned and fitted as the surface is completed, so cables are protected and neatly hidden.

Low-voltage systems use a transformer to feed LED lights safely. Any connection to the mains supply is made by a qualified electrician, and we arrange this as part of the project.

How it works

Plan the lighting

We agree where light is needed and what type of fitting.

Lay ducting and cables

We install ducting and cabling during the groundwork.

Fit the lights

We position and fit lights as the paving is completed.

Connect and test

A qualified electrician makes the supply connection and we test everything.

Not sure which surface suits your property?

Resin, tarmac, block paving or stone: each has strengths. Tell us about your space and budget and we will recommend the right one and quote for it in writing.

What kind of lighting is best?

Recessed lights in edging give a subtle line of light. Bollard and post lights give wider coverage and are easy to maintain. Uplighters highlight features. We recommend a mix to suit the property and avoid glare and light spill for neighbours.

What affects the cost?

The cost depends on the number and type of lights, the cable runs and the connection. We give a free written quote after a visit.

Driveway Lighting FAQs

Can you add lighting to an existing driveway?

Yes, but it usually means cutting channels in the surface. It is cheaper and neater when done during a new build.

Is low-voltage lighting safe?

Yes, low-voltage garden lighting is designed for outdoor use, and the mains connection is made by a qualified electrician.

Do you supply the lights?

We supply and fit lights from our suppliers and discuss options with you.

Can lights be automatic?

Yes. Sensors and timers can switch lights on at dusk or on movement.
