Paths and Walkways across London

Paths carry people every day, so they need to be level, non-slip and well drained. Many older paths have settled, cracked or become covered in moss, creating trip hazards.

We build paths to suit the garden and the way you use it. Narrow London side returns, front-door approaches and long rear gardens each have different needs, from wheelchair-friendly widths to a more informal stepping route.

When a path needs replacing

  • Uneven slabs or cracked concrete that are trip hazards
  • Standing water or ice patches on the path in winter
  • Moss and algae that make it slippery
  • A path that no longer goes where you walk
  • A new extension or garden project that changes how you move around

How we build a path

We mark out the route, excavate, and build a compacted base with the right fall. Edges are fixed so the path holds its shape, and the surface is laid to give a level, firm and non-slip finish.

Options include paving slabs, block paving, resin bound, gravel with grids and poured concrete. We match the surface to the house and garden, and we can add steps, handrail positions and lighting.

How it works

Plan the route

We agree the line, width and finish and check access.

Excavate and build the base

We dig out and build a compacted base with edges and falls.

Lay the surface

We lay the chosen surface with accurate levels.

Finish

We clear up and explain how to look after it.

Not sure which surface suits your property?

Resin, tarmac, block paving or stone: each has strengths. Tell us about your space and budget and we will recommend the right one and quote for it in writing.

Which path surface should I choose?

Paving slabs and block paving give a classic look. Resin bound gives a smooth surface suitable for wheelchairs and pushchairs. Gravel is informal and permeable. Concrete is plain and strong. We recommend the best fit for each route.

What affects the cost?

The cost of a path depends on its length, width, surface, the base and any steps or edging. We give a free written quote after measuring up.
