The area
Price is usually quoted per square metre, so the larger the drive, the higher the total. Larger areas can bring a lower rate per square metre because set-up costs are spread.
The base
Resin is only as good as what is underneath. A sound existing base can be a saving. If it needs to be dug out and rebuilt, that adds labour and materials. A quote that ignores the base is a warning sign.
Resin type and stone
Resin-bound costs more than resin-bonded. Stone colour, size and quality affect price, as do borders, patterns and logos.
Drainage and edging
Drainage, kerbs and edgings add cost but protect the finish. If the surface must meet the front garden rules, permeable construction and drainage must be priced in.
Access and removal
Tight access, a long carry or waste to dispose of all add to cost. Removal of an old driveway is a separate line.
