Act fast on fresh spills

Soak up as much as you can with absorbent material such as cat litter, sand or sawdust. Leave it, then sweep it up and dispose of it properly.

Concrete and block paving

Apply a degreaser made for driveways, scrub with a stiff brush and rinse. Old stains may need a poultice or a few repeats.

Tarmac

Be careful. Oil and solvents dissolve tarmac. Use mild detergent and avoid strong solvents.

Resin

Use mild detergent and warm water. Avoid solvents unless the installer says it is safe. Test a small area first.

Stop it happening again

Sealing helps keep oil from soaking in. See paving sealing and paving cleaning.
